A lot of the appearance of your smile is made up of positive features, like your teeth, your gums, and your lips. But sometimes it’s the negative space, the voids around your teeth, that can get the most attention. And when that happens, it can make you feel very uncomfortable with the appearance of your smile.

But you don’t have to live with negative space in your smile. We can fix the appearance of your smile so that only the positive features show.

Black Triangles

One of the more common forms of negative spaces in smiles is black triangles along the gum line. These occur when the gums recede slightly, exposing the taper between the crown and root of your front teeth.

There are many approaches to treating black triangles, but we’re happy to be able to use the new Bioclear Matrix. This method of reshaping teeth using flowable composites is capable of eliminating black triangles with less removal of natural tooth material than in porcelain veneers. It’s also less expensive than veneers. The results are highly attractive and very durable.

Chipped Tooth

If you have chipped one of your teeth, it can create a negative void in your smile. Most of the time, dental bonding is often the best approach to fixing these minor tooth chips. It’s inexpensive, quick, and attractive. Porcelain veneers can also be used for this, too, and dental crowns are recommended if the structural integrity of the tooth is compromised.

Tooth Gaps

If you have gaps between your teeth, it can make you very self-conscious. Although some people really like their tooth gaps, other people want to eliminate them. There are many ways to eliminate gaps between your teeth, including porcelain veneers, dental bonding, and Six Month Smiles or clear braces.

If your tooth gap is caused by a missing tooth, we can use a dental implant to give you a highly attractive tooth replacement.

Open Bite

Sometimes, if you have an open bite, it can really show when you smile. Usually, this requires a significant orthodontic intervention to treat, but in some cases we might be able to improve the appearance of your smile by building up some of your teeth.
