Most dental problems are progressive. That means they get harder—and more expensive—to treat the longer you wait to treat them. The only problem is that, even if treatment is less expensive today, it may still not be in the budget.
That’s where CareCredit comes in. It helps you meet the gap between your treatment needs and your budget restrictions. It’s similar to a credit card for dental care, but it also offers interest-free financing for up to 60 months depending on how much you borrow.
How CareCredit Works
You have to apply for CareCredit (see below), and once you are qualified, you just use the CareCredit card to pay for your dental treatment. Depending on how much you charge and what you qualify for, you can then make payments to pay off the cost over 6-24 months.
If you pay off your CareCredit account in the interest-free period, there’s no interest due. Once that period lapses, you are subject to an interest rate according to the terms of the card. Interest accrues from the date of purchase, but is only charged once the no-interest period has lapsed. There is a minimum payment required until you pay off the balance. Typically, the minimum balance is calculated so that you pay off the initial charge and all interest over 12-60 months. Late payments or failure to meet the minimum payment will lead to additional fees.
Why Choose CareCredit
There are many reasons why people choose CareCredit to help pay for dental treatment, including:
- Allows you to get needed treatment today
- Simple application process
- Accepted at many healthcare providers, including dentists, doctors, and even veterinarians
- Interest-free period saves money
- Long-term financing makes it easier to budget
Although you may have a conventional credit card that would allow you to pay for treatment, CareCredit gives you additional flexibility. Conventional credit cards begin charging you interest right away, but with CareCredit, you have six months or more to pay off the balance before interest is charged. Dental care is expensive enough—you shouldn’t have to make interest payments as well.
