Removable, Snap-In Dentures Are The Solution

Dr. Siegel solves the loose dentures problem with Snap-In Dentures. Dr. Siegel creates a stable platform for your dentures using just two to four dental implants. Special attachments on the implants allow you to snap this denture in and out of place. This provides stability for the denture and greatly increases your chewing power.

Benefits of Snap-In Dentures

Snap-In Dentures are becoming increasingly popular because they offer many benefits for you. You’ll enjoy the following:

  • More stable dentures
  • No need for denture adhesive
  • Stronger bite
  • Better eating ability
  • Clear speech
  • Improved sense of taste
  • Less bone resorption
  • Look younger for longer
  • Natural feeling
  • More comfortable dentures

Snap-In Dentures use special attachments to hold onto dental implants. The dental implants anchor firmly in your bone so the denture stays stable. This means you won’t need denture adhesive. Plus, you’ll be able to eat better and speak clearly.

Your jawbone and your teeth have a mutually reinforcing relationship. Your bones hold your teeth in, but your teeth stimulate your bones. When you lose your teeth, the body begins removing unnecessary bone. Dental implants continue stimulating the bone so your body keeps it. This keeps your profile from collapsing, so it helps you look younger for longer.

Traditional dentures are loose in your mouth, making them feel like a foreign object. Many people find that their dentures make them gag. Snap-In Dentures feel more like your natural teeth. Plus, they’re more comfortable. You’ll be happy to wear your dentures all day with Snap-In Dentures.

Snap-in Upper Dentures

Lower dentures are often less stable than upper dentures. As a result, people often decide to upgrade their lower dentures. However, it’s also possible to upgrade your upper dentures, too.

By stabilizing an upper denture to implants, your chewing power is increased even more, and the false palate is no longer needed. The tongue helps your sense of taste, but the roof of your mouth also contributes to your ability to taste food. Without a false palate covering the roof of your mouth, your sense of taste improves tremendously. Food will taste more like it used to, helping you enjoy a healthy, varied diet.

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you’re considering your first set of dentures or are unhappy with your current dentures, you might be a good candidate for Snap-In Dentures.

Snap-In Dentures require dental implants. To be a candidate for dental implants, you must be an adult whose jaw has finished growing. You must also be healthy enough for surgery. You are a better candidate if you:

  • Have little to no gum disease
  • Have adequate bone in your jaw
  • Are a nonsmoker
  • Don’t have health conditions that affect dental implants
  • Aren’t taking medications that affect dental implants

Gum disease is the most common cause of tooth loss–and the most common cause of implant loss. If you have gum disease, Dr. Siegel will recommend treatment before you get your implants.

Another potential problem is that you might not have enough bone to support dental implants. This is especially common if you’ve had dentures for many years. Dr. Siegel might recommend a bone graft. This will build up your jawbone so it can safely support your implants.

Nonsmokers have the best odds for successful dental implants (nearly 98% of dental implants are successful for good candidates). If you want Snap-In Dentures, quitting smoking is best, but the effects can linger for decades.

Let Dr. Siegel know all your medications (including vitamins and supplements) so he can tell you if any of them might cause problems for your implants. Then you might want to talk to your doctor about changing your medications.

Denture Stabilization Procedure

Snap-In Dentures work similarly to other dental implant procedures. Dr. Siegel will use a 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner to determine the amount and density of your bone. Then he’ll decide if you have enough bone to support the tooth replacements. He’ll also decide if you will do best with two or four dental implants.

In your dental implant surgery, Dr. Siegel will place the implants in places that support your Snap-In Dentures. These implants must heal for four to six months so your body can build bone around them. Then Dr. Siegel will place the connectors on the implants. When these heal, he will take impressions of your mouth to guide the creation of your Snap-In Dentures.
